MAXIMAL CONCEPTS x TIME OUT HONG KONG PRESENTS:
A NIGHT FOR NEPAL AT STOCKTON
Nepal is still deep in recovery from the devastating 2015 Gorkha earthquake. This year, we’ve partnered up with Karma Flights to fund the relief of earthquake-ravaged regions of Nepal & help build a new school. With over 10,000 Nepalese members within the HK community, this cause is near and dear to our hearts.
Come down to Stockton to support this worthwhile cause, and indulge in a night of free-flow Gin & Tonics, Vodka Sodas, truffle fries and more!
$250 will get you unlimited select drinks and food from 6PM – 9:30PM.
**Tickets sold on the night will be $300.
We will also be hosting a silent auction on the evening for an amazing array of prizes from:
Gin & Tonic
Vodka & Soda
Roast Beef Sliders / Caramelised Onions / Truffle Mayonnaise
Truffle Fat Chips / Parmesan Cheese
Cauliflower Fritters / Coriander / Vadouvan Aioli
ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN:
Over 200 members of the Maximal Concepts family (staff at Brickhouse, Blue, Limewood, Stockton and more) are Nepalese, so we have very strong ties to this community. Though it’s been a few years since the devastating Gorkha earthquake in 2015, Nepal is still deeply in recovery – a vast portion of the population live in extreme terrain, and political instability has meant that education has taken a back seat, inhibiting Nepal's youth from progressing their education.
As a team, we set ourselves the goal to raise HKD$390,000 to help the village of Arnakot build a new school. So far, we’ve raised about $173K, and hope that one more event will help tip us over the edge before we present a final cheque to the charity (as well as the school’s future students & teachers) in Nepal.
What this new school means:
Hundreds of local children could attend this school instead of undertaking a 6-hour round-trip walk to their remote secondary schools. Girls, in particular, would remain and complete secondary school instead of dropping out after reaching middle school.
